It handles absolutely beautifully!  I made impeccable clean cuts on the ends, hollowed the core a bit, tucked the cut ends into the core as far as they'd go (1/2" or so) and used a toothpick to apply a dab of Eileen's Tacky Glue to the inside of each end, they are absolutely flawless!
